Hard to believe, but Glastonbury began in 1970 with just 1,500 people paying £1 each, which included a weekend of live music and free milk.

It all took place on a quiet Somerset farm, just one day after Jimi Hendrix died.

Artists like Marc Bolan and Al Stewart performed for a small crowd, and yet, something clicked.

Word spread. A legend was born.

Now in 2025, the same farm is getting ready to welcome over 200,000 people from around the world. The fields are already buzzing as the site transforms - flags go up, stages take shape, and the unmistakable Glasto spirit kicks in. This year’s festival runs from June 25 to 29, and the lineup is massive: The 1975SupergrassRAYENeil YoungNoah KahanNile Rodgers & Chic, and Olivia Rodrigo, who’s set to close the Pyramid Stage on Sunday.

But Glastonbury is more than big names. It’s sunrise at the Stone Circle, surprise sets in tucked-away tents, and little moments that stay with you. One highlight this year? A massive flashmob dance to Nile Rodgers & Chic’s “Le Freak," open to anyone who wants to learn the moves and join in. It’ll happen twice: first in the Theatre & Circus Fields on Thursday, and again right before Nile Rodgers & Chic take the stage on Sunday. Fun, chaotic, and totally unforgettable.

There’s also breathtaking circus performing in the sky, late-night mayhem in Shangri La, and the delightfully strange and surreal Unfairground. Around every corner, something unexpected is happening.

As always, Glastonbury stays true to what matters: supporting Oxfam, Greenpeace, and WaterAid, promoting eco-friendly travel, and encouraging leave no trace practices.

From a muddy field to a global festival, Glastonbury has never lost what makes it special. It’s music, it’s madness, it’s community, and it’s those random, perfect moments you’ll talk about for years. If you’re heading to Glastonbury 2025, have the best time. If not, no stress. 2026 will be here before you know it.
