SOCAN (Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada)

SOCAN is Canada's largest music industry organization, managing the rights of over 175,000 members. It functions as a comprehensive Collective Management Organization, representing the performing rights of composers, songwriters, and music publishers, as well as the reproduction rights for the use of their music in various media. SOCAN licenses businesses, broadcasters, and digital services, collecting fees that are then distributed as royalties. It is a member-owned non-profit dedicated to serving music creators and publishers across Canada and internationally through reciprocal agreements.
