The Sociedade Portuguesa de Autores (SPA) is the main Portuguese collecting society, representing authors from a wide array of fields, including music, theatre, literature, and audiovisual works. For its music members, SPA manages both performing and mechanical rights. As the oldest Portuguese society of its kind, it plays a fundamental role in protecting the intellectual property of creators and ensuring they receive fair payment for the use of their works.
