AKM (Autoren, Komponisten und Musikverleger)

AKM is the primary copyright collecting society for music in Austria. It represents the rights of authors, composers, and music publishers, managing the public performance and broadcast rights of their works. Through its subsidiary Austro-Mechana, it also handles mechanical rights. AKM is responsible for licensing music users across Austria and distributing the collected fees as royalties to its members, upholding the value of musical creation in the country.
