CAPASSO is a Mechanical Rights Organization based in South Africa. Its primary function is to license the reproduction of musical works on behalf of music publishers and composers. This includes collecting and distributing royalties from the digital and physical replication of music. As the mechanical rights hub for the region, CAPASSO is essential for ensuring songwriters and publishers are paid for the use of their compositions on streaming services, downloads, and CDs.
